This one's from Scars of Mirrodin. I know some people don't like the whole metal world thing going on in Mirrodin. Maybe it detracts from their view of Magic brand fantasy, or something. Anyway, I don't share that sentiment. Mirrodin is, in this humble __ing genin's view, a __ing great example of creative art direction. Magic brands itself as magepunk and nothing says magepunk more than people growing iron spikes out of their heads.

And if you think otherwise, well, you better watch out 'cos a ninja is coming to town.

Never thought about the whole "Magepunk" thing, but you're probably right..

It's clearly *not* your classic high fantasy, and several of the settings are clearly pseudo-modern.
